The SoundDetector program requires an audio cable between your HF Radio and the computer's Sound Card. It is preferred if this audio signal is independent of your radio's volume control circuit. That way the volume control on the sound card will not have to be re-adjusted each time the radio's volume control is changed.
The SoundDetector program interfaces with several portions of the AirMail program. It uses the AirMail program to control the modem, transceiver and connection process. To provide automatic connection using the AirMail program, your HF radio will need remote frequency control via your computer. Two different hardware configurations are supported:
